What You May Be Feeling

Dec 17, 2010 No Comments by

As always, remember that every pregnancy and every woman is different. You may experience all of these symptoms at one time or another, or only a few of them. Some may have continued from last month, others may be new. Still others may be hardly noticed because you’ve become so used to them. You may also have other, less common, symptoms. Here’s what you might experience this month:

  • More energy
  • Fetal movement (probably by the end of the month)
  • Increasing vaginal discharge
  • Achiness in the lower abdomen and along the sides (from stretching of the ligaments supporting the uterus)
  • Constipation
  • Heartburn, indigestion, flatulence, bloating
  • Occasional headaches, faintness or dizziness
  • Backache
  • Nasal congestion and occasional nosebleeds; ear stuffiness
  • Sensitive gums that may bleed when you brush
  • Hearty appetite
  • Leg cramps
  • Mild swelling of ankles and feet, and occasionally of hands and face
  • Varicose veins of legs and/or hemorrhoids
  • Skin color changes on abdomen and/or face
  • A protruding navel
  • Faster pulse (heart rate)
  • Easier – or more difficult – orgasm

  • A growing sense of reality about the pregnancy
  • Fewer mood swings, though you’ll likely still be weepy and irritable occasionally
  • Continued absentmindedness
